Clean beaches are excellent if you want to relax or have a swim. Tourists may choose between the open sea waters with cool sea breeze and the shallow and warm Puck Bay, the only sea-side exposure to the sun in Poland.
The Puck Bay is also a paradise for amateurs of sailing and windsurfing. Its excellent weather conditions (winds blowing almost all the time!) and available services will please even those that are hard to please. The Żarnowieckie Lake and its motorboat port is especially recommended to those who prefer the sound of motor rattle rather than fluttering of sails.
If you would like to have a cruise on the Baltic Sea, go to the harbours in Puck, Władysławowo, Kuźnica, Jastarnia and Hel and choose a trip on the cruising boat or a fish cutter where apart from sightseeing you will be able to see fishermen at work.
If you prefer more stable ground under their feet, choose a walk along the sea shore. If you are lucky, you may find amber, or fossilised resin, on the beach. A bird's eye view of the Puck Region cannot be missed - for that visitors should go to the landing field in Celbowo, Tupadły or Jastarnia. Then they will be able to see where such names as Hel's Scythe or Cow's Tail came from.
But Norda is not only beaches and water. You can check that going on a bike trip following one of the recommended routes. Varied routes lead through picturesque woods and meadows, through snaky paths along hills and streams. The same paths may be followed on horseback or in a comfortable carriage - just see what is recommended in the local stables.
If you go for one of the numerous trips on foot or by coach, not only will you have a chance to experience the beauty of the Puck Region but you will be able to learn about its fascinating past and interesting traditions. Those who are interested in the history should visit the Fisheries Museum in Hel to learn about the traditional fishermen's trade, see the Museum of the Puck Region, Żarnowiec Convent, castles in Rzucewo and Krokowa, and visit the open-air museum in Nadole and an old fisherman's cottage in Jastarnia.
