Kashubian village Wielka Wies and holiday resort Hallerowo were joined under the common name of Władysławowo only in 1963. Earlier the name was used to refer to a fishing harbour founded just before the World War II.

Today's Władysławowo lies at the root of the Hel Sandbar (30 miles from Gdynia and 20 miles from Hel). This is one of the most conveniently located towns in the so called Norda. Tourists have a chance to take a rest at the beaches of the Great Sea as well as the Small Sea.

Holiday aura is preserved here through sandy beaches, sea-side cafes and busy nightlife. Tourists may go to the favourite viewpoint of Józef Haller ('the Blue General'), or swim and sunbathe, or walk, go for a sea-cruise, breath in the sea breeze and take a look at the unique flora and fauna. Władysławowo ensures great time for everybody at reasonable prices.

Visitors should see 'Hallerówka' (the house of General Józef Haller, now a museum), the modern church with a bell-tower offering a nice view over city panorama, and the fishing harbour where most of the sea cruises start. In the city centre take a closer look at the Fisherman's House, now the seat of the City Office. Its tower rises above the city and those who manage to reach its top are rewarded with a breathtaking view. A walk in Władysławowo is an unforgettable experience.
